In DC, House Republicans passed legislation today that will repeal and replace The Patient Protection and Affordable care act, also known as Obamacare.  This is a major step toward this long running Republican goal that sets in motion an overhaul of the nation’s healthcare system.

The Republican victory comes in with a narrow 217-213 vote, the Republican led house was able to overcome it's own opposition from inside the GOP and finally get the bill to the House floor after adding an 11th hour amendment to appease moderates still opposed to the bill.  This last amendment ads a benefit for those with pre-existing conditions in states that choose not to accept a waiver.

The Bill will now head to the Senate where they will either approve the bill as is, or send it back to the house with changes.
