This week, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the final versions of the Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) Rule and the Medicare Home Health Prospective Payment System (HH PPS). In the PFS rule, NTOCC was particularly concerned with the implementation of the Chronic Care Management (CCM) code. CMS’ proposal would pay physicians a separate fee for managing Medicare beneficiaries with two or more chronic conditions. In the HH PPS rule, NTOCC commented on the proposed changes to the face-to-face encounter requirements that could have a negative impact on Medicare beneficiaries’ transitions to home health.
